A Runner Unravels

Hello, everyone! I'm Sam. I live in Rhode Island. I'm currently training for my next half marathon, a marathon in October 2012 and trying to help my speed. So, here we go!

Yesterday, I ran twice! It was gorgeous out, but soooo hot. The first run was in the morning. I want to run longer, but I hadn’t run in a couple weeks so I kept it to 2 miles with a 9:30 min/mile pace. Comfortable. Then my friend said she was going for a run and I went with her. Another 2.5!

I am so sore today.

Today is Day 1 of back on track stuff.

Today and tomorrow will consist of eating better. Monday starts Day 1 of running for real again. It’s warmer out. I have to train (and sign up) for the half marathon in May.

I had scrambled egg whites with some cheddar cheese and peach green tea for breakfast. I’ll probably have a greek yogurt, too. I have to work 3-11 tonight. Ugh.

Let’s do this.

I would like to lose the weight that I have gained by Bonnaroo. Or gain more muscle. Whichever one that actually happens.

What sports bra is that? I need another one…

I got it at Marshall’s! I think it’s Champion or something…

Wooo!

Pictures of me.

Going to the gym soon!

I can’t wait until it’s warm outside again and I don’t have to bundle up to run.

Hello, gym.

I’ve been running and using the stationary bike a lot and using weights. I feel awesome.

I’m so excited I might pee my pants.

Running in shorts and a tshirt in January in New England is the best.

It should always be like this.

55 degrees out. Sunny. Barely any snow.

Up the crazy hill at school and I have a new PR for this route! Ran 2.55 in 21:40. Faster than my most recent 5k pace! Only by a few seconds, but still. This route is so much hillier.

I am in the best mood.

Now the training for this entire year starts!

I’ve been resting a lot lately (meaning I’ve been really chilly and somewhat lazy). So I haven’t run a lot. Oops.

However, when I do run, they have all been awesome. So I’m thinking this resting has been helping and I’ll fully start training/running/working out again next week when classes start and I can go to a gym again.
